Top Ten Tuesday is a feature run by BrokeAndBookish each week. I’m thinking I might not take part every week but just see if a week takes my fancy. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday is Top Ten Book Covers I’d Frame As Pieces of Art!
The Man in the Empty Suit – Sean Ferrell
I love how simple the cover design is, how it’s all white bar the multi-coloured man.
Vicious – V.E. Schwab
I just love how striking this cover is – the red and black look great together, especially with the fracturing silhouettes.
Sabriel – Garth Nix
I love how simple the cover art is for the UK first editions of this trilogy are and Sabriel is my favourite.
The Twelve – Justin Cronin
I love this book and this cover so much. I love the contrast with the dark image and the bright orange banner with the title in it.
Another Bullshit Night in Suck City – Nick Flynn
I have a bit of a thing for book covers that are mostly made up of text – I think it just looks really cool and would make a great piece of art.
Champion – Marie Lu
While I’ve not yet read this book (or even started the series) I adore the cover.
Black Widow – Nathan Edmondson and Phil Noto
OK so technically it’s a comic book not a novel but I love this cover and the art of the new Black Widow series and I can’t wait till I can get my hands on the first volume.
If You Find Me – Emily Murdoch
I like things that contrast so I love the black background with all the bright yellow trees – it’s a busy cover but there’s something about it.
Nightlife – Rob Thurman
I don’t often like book covers with real people on them but I do love how the covers of the Cal Leandros series are put together. They’re so dark and mysterious and would make some good gothic art.
Elijah’s Mermaid – Essie Fox
This is just really pretty. I love how a lot of Essie Fox’s books have similar cover designs even though they’re not actually connected (I presume, I haven’t read any of the books yet)
Ohh, I LOVE that Vicious cover! It’s so delicious. And also the Champion cover. I never got into that series, but I do so love the cover art. x) My TTT!
The cover art for the Marie Lu books was the main thing that drew me to them – I have the trilogy now but have yet to read them.
I need to hurry up and read The Twelve, the end of the Passage was totally unsatisfying.
haha! When I was reading The Passage I didn’t realise it was the start of a series so when I had about 100 pages left I started freaking out because there wasn’t enough pages for everything that needed to happen! XD
Surprisingly, I haven’t come across that cover of Vicious when I gloss over Schwab’s novel making it into weekly lists. Pretty rad!
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
I’ve heard that a few times – I think it’s because it’s the UK paperback version. I have to say I do prefer this cover than the other images (that I presume are the US editions) I’ve seen online.
OMG I can’t believe I forgot to add Champion by Marie Lu in my TTT! There were so many beautiful covers that it all just blurred together. Great covers you’ve got there. 🙂
Here’s my TTT: Symphony of Words
Yeah it was really hard to pick just ten! 🙂
Great covers! So many covers on here that I love. I really love If You Find Me, Champion and Vicious; such brilliant covers. Nice picks 🙂 Here’s my TTT.
Thanks! It is really nice when you have a load of pretty books on your shelves 🙂
I love your eclectic picks! It’s the first time I’m seeing any of these covers. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my TTT last week 🙂
Thanks! To be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve read for fun so there were a lot of books I didn’t recognise on different lists which was fun (and has given me more to read). No problemo – thanks for returning the favour 🙂
