TOP TEN TUESDAY: My Top Ten OTPs

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature run by BrokeAndBookish each week – I’m thinking I might not take part every week but just see if a week takes my fancy. This week, as it’s the run up to Valentine’s Day it’s all about romance and couples in books. So I’ve decided to share my top ten favourite couples or OTPs (One True Pairings)!

Hermione and Ron – Harry Potter
I wanted these two to be together before I even knew what OTPs and shipping was. They are probably my oldest and possibly most influential OTP.

Clint Barton and Natasha Romanoff – Marvel Comics
Though Clint is kinda my fandom bicycle, my first choice for him will always be Natasha. They just work so well together and give me so many emotions.

Sabriel and Touchstone – The Old Kingdom Trilogy
These two are a team! They were friends before they ended up becoming a couple and they balance each other out.

June and Day – The Legend Trilogy
I love how the series ended for them. It might not be to everyone’s taste but I just love the possibilities it leaves for them.

Bran and Mérian – The King Raven Trilogy
OK so I still haven’t read Tuck (the third book in the trilogy) but as it’s a retelling of Robin Hood that must mean that Bran and Mérian have their happily ever after! I want them to because Bran has grown so much and Mérian has always be assertive and strong-willed and doesn’t let Bran get away with anything. They really could be the perfect team.

Scarlet and Wolf – The Lunar Chronicles
These two are my favourites out of all the pairings in The Lunar Chronicles. They just balance each other so well and the way Wolf gets so badly affected when Scarlet is hurt or missing is super touching.

Mia and Michael – The Princess Diaries
These two were often a painful couple to read about. They took ages to get together and when they were a couple there was misunderstandings but they were always meant to be together! I’ve been meaning to read the adult book in the series to see what their wedding is like.

Lena and Ethan – Beautiful Creatures series
It’s been forever since I read these books but I just remember being sucked in by Lena and Ethan’s romance. I loved how they’d do anything for each other, though they did sometimes fall into the trap of not actually talking to each other about what was happening!

Julie and R – Warm Bodies
The feelings R had for Julie literally saved the world! He pretty much came back to life because of how he felt for her and they made a pretty badass couple.

Luna and Neville – Harry Potter
OK so in the books they never got together (it’s the one change in the films I’m super happy about) but I always thought they’d balance each other out so well. Neville’s shy and kind of serious and Luna often has her head in the clouds but they are both so incredibly brave and loyal.

Are any of these your favourite couples? What’s your OTP?

  1. Never heard the phrase OTP before! when I first read the Harry Potter series, I always expected Harry to get with Herminoe, (in the beginning) but I absolutely love the pairing between her and Ron! I guess my favorite OTP would be Derick and Chloe from the Summoning series.

    1. I’ve spent so much time in various fandoms since I was a teenager that OTP has kinda become a part of my vocabulary 😛
See I always thought that Hermione and Ron would end up together and got annoyed when people would presume she’d end up with Harry because he was the main character. It’s interesting how people see relationships in fiction in different ways. Oooh don’t think I’ve read the Summoning series, I might check it out 🙂

      1. Haha, because he was the MC is EXACTLY why I thought they’d be together. But I was young back then, and unfamiliar with trios. I definitely loved the relationship in The Summoning, so I hope you like it!

  2. AHH YES TO SCARLET AND WOLF!! They are my ultimate Lunar Chronicles ship too…eeeep. I seriously cannot get enough of their complete adorableness. ❤

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
