The Totally Should’ve Book Tag

I was tagged by Lauren at Never Anyone Else to do this pretty self-explanatory tag – her blog is pretty darn great so don’t forget to check it out! Now onto the tag!

1. Totally should’ve gotten a sequel
vicious_cvVicious by V.E. Schwab
I’d love to see what happens to these guys next, if the trio stick together or if they go their own ways.

2. Totally should’ve had a spin off series
Harry Potter (obviously!)
I want to know more about what happens to the likes of Seamus, Dean, Luna and Neville after the Battle of Hogwarts.

3. An author who should totally write more books
Christopher Paolini.
He certainly earnt a break after writing the epic Inheritance Cycle but it would be cool to see what other things he would write, would he stick to fantasy or write something completely different? I want to know!

4. A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else
Katniss Everdeen.
It sounds mean but I wish she’d ended up on her own.

5. Totally should’ve ended differently
The Death Cure by James Dashner.
The way this book ended, it just seemed to stop suddenly and I didn’t know if the character were really going to be safe and OK. If there had been a few more chapters to just explain things a little I might have liked it more.

6. Totally should’ve had a movie franchise
sabriel1Sabriel by Garth Nix.

7. Totally should’ve had a TV show
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
I was going to put this as the movie franchise but I think this series would really flourish on TV.

8. Totally should’ve had only one point of view
Allegiant by Veronica Roth.
I just didn’t think suddenly having Four’s perspective added anything really to the story.

9. Totally should have a cover change
maze runnerThe Maze Runner by James Dashner.
I read this on my kindle so luckily I don’t have to look at it on my shelves. It’s just so green and kind of vague, you really have to look at the cover properly to try and make out what it is. I like the new covers that are mostly black though.

10. Totally should’ve stopped at book one
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.
So I might change my mind about this once the third and final book comes out but I was really disappointed by the sequel, The Infinite Sea, and it’s kind of spoilt my memories of how much I loved The 5th Wave.

11. Totally should’ve kept the original covers
lorien legacies book coversThe Lorien Legacies by Pittacus Lore.
I have never read a book series where practically every book has a different cover and sometimes they are even different heights! I liked the original cover, and the original covers of books two and three are my favourite out of them all. If it could just stick to one that’d be great!

  1. I would love to see more from the world of Vicious! Why didn’t I think of that? 😀

I’d be up for a spin-off of anything vaguely Harry Potter related, I think.

I agree with you about Katniss – I never cared for how that epilogue was tacked on.

In regards to The Maze Runner series, I think the first one was my favorite one…disappointed in how the series ended, too.

    Great post!
