Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Artsy Reader Girl. This week it’s all about super long book titles. These are all books I’ve read, and I think some of these book titles are deceptive as when you count the words there’s not as many as you think, they just have a lot of syllables. I noticed a lot of these books are non-fiction – those semi colons definitely help book titles to become longer!
Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami
Fear and Loathing in La Liga: Barcelona vs Real Madrid by Sid Lowe
The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair by Joël Dicker
Butterfly: From Refugee to Olympian, My Story of Rescue, Hope and Triumph by Yusra Mardini
The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After by Clemantine Wamariya and Elizabeth Weil
Gould’s Book of Fish: A Novel in Twelve Fish by Richard Flanagan
Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal: The Lives and Careers of Two Tennis Legends by Sebastián Fest
Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash by Eka Kurniawan
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers
How to be a Heroine (Or, what I’ve learned from reading too much) by Samantha Ellis
Have you read any of these long-titled books? And do you find some books don’t have so many words in the title as you first think they do?
I’ve followed Nadal and Federer it seems like forever. Glad they are now tied at the most grand slam victories. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/10/ttt-101320.html
Same! I think they’re both so great for the sport and for each other’s achievements 😀
Great list! How to be a Heroine made my list this week, too, and I’ll always love The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. ❤
Oh… I completely forgot about the Samantha Ellis book. It was an interesting book, which I liked a lot! Great list!
Becky Chambers is one of my favorites. I need to jump back into that series.
How to Be a Heroine sounds like a good read.
My post.
Subtitles definitely help lengthen a title! They’re definitely necessary sometimes, though, so you know what the book is actually about, especially if the actual title makes little sense 🙂
Happy TTT!

Ooh The Long Way To A Small Angry Planet- one of my favorites!!!!
I had no idea there was a book about Federer and Nadal. I love watching them play tennis. I’m happy for Nadal who tied Federer’s 20 Grand Slam wins a few days ago. They are such great players. Excellent list!
I’m so curious about The Girl Who Smiled Beads.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Good, serious list Colorless is the only one I’ve read, but this is one of the most original lists in today’s posts.
Murakami made it on my list as well 😀 and Becky Chambers is on my end of year tbr, hopefully I’ll manage to read at least the first book.
Here’s my TTT if you want to have a look https://readwithstefani.com/books-with-milelong-titles-on-my-tbr/ Happy reading!
