The Liebester Award

The Liebster Award 3.0

I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Ola from OlaReadsBooks – thank you so much for the nomination! I’ve been nominated before (you can check out my answers and discover more awesome blogs here and here) but I liked Ola’s questions a lot and I like shining a light on some great blogs, so without further ado, on to the award!

Ola’s Questions:

What is the last sentence from the book you’re currently reading that you read?
“It’s not an easy thing, deciding how much to sacrifice.”
From United as One by Pittacus Lore. Even though this book is super fast-paced and full of action, I’m trying to read it slowly because I don’t want this series to end.

What is the funniest book you’ve ever read?
The first that comes to mind is The Martian by Andy Weir. It is definitely laugh out loud funny, mainly because the protagonists voice is so vivid and his personality shines through.

What is your book buying habits? Do you research a book before buying or just buy it on a whim?
The only research I do when it comes to buying books is reading the blurb. I might be more aware of a book before buying it because I’ve seen it’s popular in the book blogosphere but I never look at its Goodreads rating or read any reviews before buying a book. (more…)

The Liebester Award 2.0

I’ve been nominated for the Liebster Award by the awesome Amber at Only True Magic – if you like books, check her out! She nominated me absolutely ages ago so sorry it’s taken me so long to get around to doing it! I thought as it’s the holidays and almost the start of the new year it would be cool to do the award now so I can share some great blogs you should follow!liebsteraward-e1395941897374

I’ve been nominated for the award before – you can go here to check out my answers and find some other awesome blogs – but I liked the questions Amber posed and it’s always nice to see that someone likes and appreciates your blog.

So without further ado, on to the award!

The Rules:
– Make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated me and include the Liebster Award sticker in the post.
– Nominate 5-10 other bloggers and notify them of this in one of their posts.
– All nominated bloggers are to have less than 200 followers.
– Answer the 11 questions posed by your nominator and create 11 different questions for your nominees to answer. Or, you can repeat the same questions.
– Copy these rules into your post.

Questions to You:

Have you listened to Ryan Adams’ cover album of 1989? If you haven’t, hop on Spotify right now and listen to it. If you have, OH MY GOD ISN’T IT SO GOOD?
Haha! Indeed I have, well I’velistened to most of it. I did quite like it, especially his cover of Bad Blood but I do prefer Taylor Swift’s original versions on the whole.

Out of all of the thousands of memes on this planet, which ones are your favorite?
“One does not simply….” I think it’s from my love of The Lord of the Rings and Sean Bean that that one is my favourite.

Think back to the books you read last year. Which one would you never read again and why?
Crash and Burn by Michael Hassan.
I just did not like this book. I didn’t like any of the characters but I got so far into it I felt that it’d be a waste if I stopped reading it. If you want to know more about why I disliked it so much you can check out my review. (more…)

The Liebester Award

liebsteraward-e1395941897374I’ve been nominated for the Liebester Award twice in the past month. So thank you very much Joey from Another Afterthought and Briana from From Pages to Pictures!

Here’s the rules for the Liebester Award:

– Link back to the person who nominated you.
– Answer 11 questions from the individual who nominated you.
– Nominate 11 new bloggers and come up with your own 11 questions. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
– Inform your nominee on being nominated.

So first off here’s my answers to Joey @ Another Afterthought’s questions – he put them in a kind of choose-your-own-story thing but I’m just gonna generally answer the questions.

The book I’m currently reading: X – A Novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon. It’s the story of Malcolm X’s early years and I’m only thrity pages into it at the moment but I’m liking it so far.
The book that tops my favourite list over the past three years: Luther: The Calling by Neil Cross. If you haven’t watched the show and/or read the book – you really need to get on that.
The book I’d give my worst enemy: New Moon by Stephanie Meyer as it is the one book I truly hated and I’d love to give someone else that pain.
